Many people feel that without a dog to come home to, their lives would be empty and there would be no home. I feel this way too which is why when my daughter decided to begin a dog rescue after our little dog Beaux died, I supported her whole heartedly.
Right now there are seven dogs who live here with us and most have been made healthy by good nutrition and supplements that were most needed. It takes time to get them well and then find a good forever home. We studied how each dog came back from being malnourished and boney to being filled out, happy and healthy. We remain a small rescue so that we can do a good job of this and I make all the homemade food that we feed them.
It actually costs less to give them good fresh food rather than food that has been sitting in cans or bags, stacked in warehouses for many months, but it also takes time to do it. Time I we are very happy to give for their health and happiness.
I wanted to come up with a way to help purchase the fresh ingredients so I began this project. Magnetic memories. These magnetic cards are made to order and can be personalized with a person’s name. I can also, within reason, change the color to suit taste and if it is not available, I will offer something similar.
This time the theme is birthday. Instead of sending a dog lover a normal birthday card, please send them a custom magnetic card from their special buddy, that can be displayed on a refrigerator or on a magnetic memory board to remind them that you understand what it feels like to be a dog lover and you are so happy that they are.
Here are two styles of custom card that I am offering for a birthday greeting.
This first card I wrote a poem sharing how a dog would feel if only it could write. Every dog lover deserves a crown because they truly are the kings and queens of dog rescue, so of course I added one. If a dog could sign it there would be a paw print, so I added a paw print. Of course everyone who has a birthday needs a cake and candle to celebrate and I added a bone treat for the best buddy. Everything that symbolizes a special greeting from a loving buddy.
We all know that dogs love to give licks and kisses, so the poem reflects how a dog feels when it’s owner comes home.
The poem and design are copyrighted by me Linda Kilpatrick.
Happy Birthday from your best Buddy
Lots of Licks and Kisses
Hugs and bones to you
Cuddle up and snuggle up
Today and all year through
When you’re feeling lonely
Just snuggle up to me
Feel the love I offer
My love is always free

To purchase one of these custom cards, the price is $10 which includes postage to anywhere in the continental U.S.A. If you wish to send one to any other country, please add $2. Include the recipient’s name, address, where it should be sent and color preference when ordering.
Sometimes someone wants a much simpler birthday card, so I designed one without a poem. This too can have the recipient’s name added and you can choose another color. I have no doubt every dog talks to their owner and “Woof’ means so much more than four letters.
Here you can see the design and hearts are always appropriate when sharing love.
This card takes me less time to make than the first card, so to purchase one of these custom cards, the price is $8 which includes postage to anywhere in the continental U.S.A. If you wish to send one to any other country, please add $2. Include the recipient’s name, address where it should be sent and color preference when ordering.
When you buy and send one of these cards, you do so with the knowledge that the money does not go to me, but it goes to feed a rescue dog. You can go through this blog to see some of the dogs we have rescued in the past and how they progressed while living at the Haven.
If you know someone who lost a dog, I also make memorial and bereavement cards and you can see them on the following blogs.
